Green Point Chardonnay 2006
An off-shoot of the Moet and Chandon Empire established in 1986, Domaine Chandon sits in the lush Yarra Valley on the site of an old dairy farm named 'Green Point'. It combines cool climate Australian fruit with the finest French winemaking traditions to produce a wide portfolio of fine wines.
The Green Point Chardonnay is an elegant varietal style with complexity from barrel fermentation, lees stirring and ageing in French oak barrels. Pale straw yellow in colour, it has complex aromas of fresh peaches, grapefruit rind and cinnamon combine alongside touches of spicy vanilla oak. Stone fruit and citrus flavours develop on the palate and are enhanced by a creamy texture derived from 6 months of lees stirring. Subtle flint and savoury flavours extend the palate of the Green Point Chardonnay and provide a lingering, crisp finish to this incredible Australian white wine.
