Domaine des Clairneaux Sancerre Rosé 2010
The Domaine Clairneaux estate was founded by Jean-Marie Berthier in 1980, in the north of the appellation. He started from scratch, and grows the two classic grape varieties of the Sancerre region, Sauvignon Blanc for the whites and Pinot Noir for the rosé and reds. The vines rest on the slopes above Sainte-Gemme-en-Sancerre, enjoying the unique climate of the region to give prime fruit across the 8 hectares he owns. The style focuses on delicate, refreshing wines that reflect the terroir in this classic area of the Loire Valley of France. Long hours of sunlight and chalky soils all contribute to the flinty character of this wine which Loire fans love in the UK and the world over.
The Domaine des Clairneaux Sancerre Rosé is made with 100% Pinot Noir grown on the rolling slopes of the Loire Valley. Dry and clean with elegant raspberry notes, the Domaine des Clairneaux Sancerre Rosé is light salmon in colour and possess a fresh acidity giving a balanced finish, packed with aromatic fruit flavours.
